Nyspir was a small country boardering warring nations, though they stayed out of conflicts as much as was possible. Fear of the outside war, they blocked off their borders. This region of the world is a hot one, and with the largest river in the area, Nyspir had always been exposed. The river was blessed by the Goddess of Life, Atter, to always bring forth fertile land. A neighbour, one who was experiencing famine, reached out for help, but fearing that a target might be placed on their backs, the ruler of Nyspir refused any kind of assistance. But this was seen as stuck up and obnoxious, people were dying by the country borders and the important people of Nyspir did not care one bit. The regular folk had much more sympathy, and some civillians helped others get through the border. The god ruler would be tricked into accepting a meeting with Husket, goddess of a neighbouring country, notably not the one experiencing famine. Husket sliced open the paranoid god, and Nyspir was left even more fearful than ever. Atter had not been tuned in, she was not permitted to change the climate or freely assist, but when seeing the ruler assasinated, she decided to give Nyspir a favour. A young, new goddess was born, that is what the public was led to beleive. In reality, Atter served Legacy, cold regulator of the world, and could not give the people the plant god they wanted. A nature god would influence the climate, and any unacceptable changes to that, could lead to the planet rotting from the inside. The pretend god, Prima, had not been told the truth of her power. Her strength was relatively weak for a god, she could only summon flowers and vines, this was chalked up to her being a child.
Tension kept rising despite, maybe even because of the continued attitude of Nyspir. Prima kept in the dark yet again, this time by her own people. Gods in Skal are not neccicarily rulers, and the government decided that she should only serve as a national symbol and giver of boons. A drought hit, Husket's people would suffer greatly for this. Husket was a ruler that her own people feared, but she would also protect them from outside forces. She saw invading Nyspir as not only a way to nourish her subjects, but also to gather fame from the event, her main target. A god versus god battle shakes the world every time it happened, Husker will seek out those fights. Under the assumption that she could have a battle with a new god after she killed the predececor, Nyspir was invaded. Many cities within Nyspir were lost. Casualties were in the thousands. Rumours claimed, that even the crystal clear river was tainted red for weeks afterward.
Aftermath: Folks from bordering towns rushed to the ruins as soon as they could. Husker's own people were horrified, dozens fleed the country in protest. Nyspir was left devastated and hope for their "god" to save them was in vain. The only people Prima managed to save were the few she managed to hide in her pavillion. Not every citizen was directly impacted, by far the most were not even close to where it happened, yet the feeling of unsafety lingered after such a severe attack. No camps or settlements were set up in Nyspir, leaving only horryfing ghosts of what the world was capaple of. The incident was spread worldwide, with the years, it became a cautionary tale parents would tell their children about not sharing on the playground.
